Last weekend the Dutch Open Superbike Championship series kicked off at Hockenheim (D), where IDM top-contender Werner Daemen (B) entered the race in preparation of the start of the IDM superbike season. In between seasons, Werner switched teams to Yoshimura Schaefer Suzuki which is a long time Moto-Master partner in IDM. Werner was looking forward to be able to ride Moto-Master as he was outbraked on several occasions by Moto-Master rider and IDM champion Martin Bauer during the 2007 season. No More! During friday's qualification , Werner made the wrong choice in tyres which put him in 12th position at the starting grid on sunday. Werner steadliy worked his way to the front and took over the lead after 12 laps in to the race. From then on he controlled the race while behind him, RT Yamaha's Bob Withag (NL) claimed 1st position in the Dutch Championship by overtaking Ducati rider Arie Vos in the last corner before the finishline. Bob's teammate Tage Solberg was forced back in to the pits due to a technical problem. Tage finished in a dissapointing 15th position.
