Last weekend's Dutch MX Open season closing race at Heerde brought both huge joy and dissapointment. In MX1 it was Moto-Master backed Erik Eggens of team Beursfoon Suzuki  who's hope on another Dutch title went up in smoke as he crashed during the second heat, leaving Patrick Roos of team pater MX with the win for the day and the overall MX1 Championship title.
Joel Roelants was the man to beat in the MX2 class. The KTM Red-Bull factory rider (7th in 2009 MX2 GP) let his team mate Jeffrey Herlings do the honour of winning the race while Joel finished 3rd overall for the day behind Russian Evgeny Bobryshev of team Van Beers Yamaha. By securing 3rd, Joel clinched the  Dutch Open MX2 championship, as in 2007 when he rode the experimental KTM 144 two stroke.
In 85cc it was Lars van Berkel who pushed his Honda  first over the line during the first heat, leaving him untouchable for the championship competition.
